OVERALL HONORS Honoring the Top 10 overall high score winners in each age division (Sparks, Mini, Junior, Teen, and Senior) in the following competition categories: Solo, Duo/Trio, Small Group, Large Group, and Line/Production. If there are less than five entries in a division, only 1st place will be announced. Lines and Productions are combined for Overall Honors. · Winner receives $250 credit to NDH 2024 · 1st Runner-Up receives $150 credit to NDH 2024 · 2nd Runner-Up receives $50 credit to NDH 2024
SPECIAL HONORS Judges will pick routines of their choice for special recognition in each age group.
GENRE HONORS Honoring group performances excelling in specific genres: Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Tap across all age groups. Group routines receiving platinum or higher are eligible. Studios can be eligible for more than one (1) genre but can only win one (1) genre. The highest-scoring group routine of each genre will receive a $1,000 cash prize.
VERSATILITY HONORS Honoring studios representing multiple genres. In order to be eligible for Honored Versatility, studios must have at least 5 out of the 8 different genres represented out of all group entries. The highest-scoring group routine from each genre will be added, and the studio with the highest combined score will receive a $1,000 cash prize. Eligible genres: Ballet, Ballroom, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Tap. Open routines are not accepted.
"ALL HEART" HONORS Honoring the overall highest scoring group routine from our Sparks, Mini, Junior, Teen & Senior age divisions. Each winning group receives a $500 cash prize.
"HEARTSTOPPER" HONORS Awarded to the overall highest scoring group routine out of the entire competition(from one of the All Heart recipients). Recipient(s) of the Heartstopper will double their All Heart cash prize, totaling $1,000.
SPORTSMANSHIP HONORS This special Honor goes to the studio with the best overall sportsmanship throughout the event and is chosen by the entire National Dance Honors team.
WILDCARD HONORS The Honored Wildcard Competition will take place during our final night gala. Eligible studios will be able to submit any single group routine of any age or any genre to represent them in the competition. The NDH Faculty will choose ONE (1) routine to take home the title of Honored Wildcard Performance and a $4,000 cash prize. To be eligible studios must have at least 5 group routines and be one of the highest-scoring groups from our competition. Studios will be notified that they have earned the opportunity to select a Wildcard routine at the final national group competition awards ceremony. NOTE: Honored Wildcard submission can not be the same as an Honored Performance finalist routine.
PERFORMANCE HONORS Honoring the top-scoring group routines from each age division (Mini, Junior, Teen, Senior). All finalists will be announced during our final awards ceremony of the week, with the Top 3 from each age group re-compete in the Gala (limit one routine per age division per studio). The NDH Faculty will judge these top performances, choosing one (1) to take home the title of Honored Performance Winner and a $4,000 cash prize!
STUDIO HONORS Honoring studios that excel in multiple genres across multiple ages. Eligible studios must have at least one (1) group routine in each of the required 5 genres across BOTH 12/under and 13/over age divisions. Required genres are Ballet, Contemporary or Lyrical, Jazz or Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and Tap. Studios must submit the routines for each genre for 12&Under and 13&Over at the time of registration that they would like to be in the Honored Studio competition. The TOP 5 studios with the highest combined scores re-compete in the Honored Studio Final Competition. Winning Studio will receive a $15,000 cash prize.
NOTE: Winner(s) of Honored Studio will take home the highest valued prize only. There must be at least 4 eligible studios at an event to hold the Honored Studio Competition. Routines must be at least 80% true to genre for each genre selected for the Honored Studio Competition. Honored Studio winner(s) are eligible to re-compete after 2 seasons.
EDUCATOR HONORS In honor of Antoine Olds we are Honoring educators who have made a significant impact in their community. Educators are nominated by the people that know them best to share why they feel this teacher should be the 2023 Honored Educator.
LEGACY HONORS This special Honor goes to individuals who have inspired and impacted the dance industry. The Honored Legacy will be awarded to individuals for outstanding visions, dedication, and achievements throughout their lifetime.
